Built Green™ is an industry-driven, voluntary program that promotes "green" building practices to reduce the environmental impact of buildings.
Built Green™ represents one possible end-point in the GreenerVision process. Once our CEAs have worked with you to improve the energy efficiency of your homes, we will work with you and train your staff to introduce improvements to indoor air quality, resource usage (including waste management), and to reduce the overall environmental impact of your homes.
Once familiar with the building technologies and methodologies involved, it is then practical to have many or all of your homes Built Green™ labelled. This is one reason for the wide adoption and tremendous success of the Built Green™ program.
Homes for Built Green Ceritifcation move through a process from enrollment, to modelling and blower door testing and finally to labelling.
We have put together a simple flow chart for builders to help illustrate this process:

The checklist is structured to allow you flexibility in upgrades and design choices made to your homes, while still ensuring that your homes meet a high standard for indoor air quality, resource usage, and overall environmental impact. EnerGuide Label. Every Built Green™ house must be modeled in HOT2000 and Blower Door Tested so that it can receieve an EnerGuide label. Click here to see our About EnerGuide page. Built Green™ Certification and Label. Based on the energy efficiency (EnerGuide rating) and green building upgrades (checklist) of your home, a certification level of bronze, silver, gold, or platinum will be assigned. A Built Green label is then awarded to the home, which can be delivered to the homeowner and/or affixed to the breaker box together with the EnerGuide Label.
